Jordan SmithPopular 17-year-old Jordan Smith has been described by friends and family as one in a million.

But a grieving community has had to come to terms with his sudden death from a rare condition which, in a cruel twist of fate, was “a million-to-one chance to happen in someone so young,” according to doctors.

The teenager tragically died from a blood clotting disorder, which triggered a huge stroke on Saturday, May 31. He sadly died on Monday, June 2 when the life support machine was turned off at Addenbrookes Hospital.

Heartbroken friends have sent messages and laid flowers at a memorial site as the north Lowestoft community and Jordan's family come to terms with the loss of one so young.

Jordie was my superstar! He always knew how to put a smile on my face when I was down. He made my summer 2007 a one to never forget! We didn ' t see each other as much as we maybe could, but when we did it was special. He was loved by so many! everybody knew him. You couldn't miss his beaming smile and them gorgeous eyes. He was always making jokes about the most stupid things, always laughing and smiling. Just seeing his smile makes you want to. I think I speak on behalf of every one when I say that he will be missed so much, nobody could ever replace him.
He really was one in a million. My heart goes out to his family, they had such a wonderful son. You best be looking down on us, keeping everyone safe. Keep smiling babe. I can' t wait to see it when we meet again!

We can't believe that you've gone. It seems like it was only yesterday you were here chasing Buddy around the garden for your shoes. It won't be the same now you're not here.

I am so sorry for your loss, I know that its hard but we will all see this wonderful lad again one day. I will surely miss him to pieces, he always used to make me smile and when we used to talk on the computer he always put a smile back on my face. I miss seeing his kind and lovely smile and those gorgeous eyes J He was a great friend to us all and we will all miss him to pieces. I have wrote him a poem and hope to publish this soon when it is completed so that his memory will live on. I can’t wait until I see him again as this hurts a lot. I just can’t imagine that pain that everyone is going through but my heart goes out for you all even his other friends. He was a very popular lad and everyone loved him.

Just still cant believe to this day, that you are gone, you had so much of your life to give, but you were so young still.
