THIS iconic image taken from the pedestrian level of New York City’s
Brooklyn Bridge has beaten over 60 entries to be crowned The Journal’s
Picture of the Week.
Daniel Wilson, of Normanston Drive, Lowestoft, took the snap when
he visited the Big Apple in March 2007 as part of a trip for his
BA Hons Graphic Design course at Norwich School of Art and Design.
He will be presented with his image of the bridge in a 12in x 10in
frame, mounted and inscribed, in a prize worth more than £60
from Picture Studios, of London Road North, Lowestoft.
The photo will also go forward to the next final of winning images
where, together with his fellow prize-winners, he will have a chance
to win his image in a printed 12in x 18in photo block worth £130.
How to enter
We are now accepting entries for next week’s competition. They have to be taken by amateur photographers and we would prefer the pictures to be digital and between 500KB and 1MB in size. We will also accept prints.

contact details, to Journal editor Russell Cook at richard.wood@archant.co.uk and
mark your e-mail “Journal photo competition”.

Winner of the past 26 weeks
Meanwhile, entries have flooded in from readers who voted for the best winning image over the past 26 week which featured a host of imaginative photographs.
And the winner, with a total of 21 votes, was Carl Baldry, of Pinewood Avenue, Lowestoft, with his picture of a tiger at Thrigby Hall Wildlife Gardens, at Filby.
