Taken by Martin Swan, of Stoven Close, Lowestoft, the photo is from a cold clear day in March 2004 just two days after snow had covered the city.
Walking the length of the city with his camera, Mr Swan took photos of many streets from Central Park down to the financial district and believes that this photo was taken from Times Square looking back down 5th Avenue.
Having been named Picture of the Week, Mr Swan will receive a 12in x10in framed, mounted and inscribed print of his photograph, worth over £60, fromPicture Studios, of London Road North, Lowestoft, and will now go on to our overall final.
Together with the other winning photographs over the next six months, his photo will be re-printed in The Journal with readers offered the opportunity to vote for their overall favourite. The photographer of the winning image will then be presented with a printed a 12in x 18in photo block worth £130.
