Tippers dump tyres in Lowestoft

03 April 2010

POLICE have stepped up a campaign to tackle littering and fly-tipping in north Lowestoft following a spate of recent incidents.

The Lowestoft North Safer Neighbourhood Team (SNT) are seeking witnesses after tyres were dumped in the Alderman pub car park at Hollingsworth Road earlier this month.

“Littering and fly-tipping are currently priorities for the team and work is ongoing to trace those responsible for this and other similar incidents,” a police spokesman said.

“This is the third occasion recently that tyre dumping has been reported in the north of the town and the tyres are thought to have been left in the car park sometime in the week before March 7.”

Anyone spotting illegal fly-tipping is asked to take a note of the registration of any vehicle being used and to inform police or their local council.

Information about fly-tipping should be directed to Lowestoft police on 01986 835300.
