Ipswich Town triallist Yao impresses

25 November 2009

TRIALLIST Devon Yao set up the first and scored the second as Ipswich Town drew 2-2 with visiting Celtic in a behind-closed-doors friendly at Portman Road this afternoon.

American-born winger Yao nodded down for Colin Healy to break the deadlock with a delightful long-range lob on the half-hour mark.

Yao doubled the lead from close range in the second half, after Celtic had failed to clear Connor Wickham's long throw.

But Celtic finished the game strongly. Graham Carey converted a 70th minute penalty, after a foul by Troy Brown, before Willie Flood grabbed an 85th minute equaliser.

Richard Wright, Pablo Counago, Tommy Smith and Wickham all enjoyed runs-out, under the watchful eye of Roy Keane and his coaching staff.
