Why Suffolk County Council is right to spend on cycling
Those car orientated people who have attacked Suffolk County Council (SCC) for spending £750.000 on a cycling bridge at Oulton Broad south and further money on a cycleway and footway from north Oulton Broad into the town centre are uninformed.

Evidence shows that for every £1.00 spent on cycling and walking facilities the economy benefits by an average £20.00. Those few new roads that do benefit local economies rarely exceed £3.00

Bob Blizzard's attack on SCC was disgraceful.

The bridge at Oulton Broad south is a close second to the bascule bridge in being the biggest deterrent to cycling in the town. Cyclists have been clipped by car wing mirrors.
