Suffolk Based Forum

I have just returned from a week of wall to wall sunshine on the Sunrise Coast so whoever organised that thanks a lot !

On my Suffolk Web Forum I am missing pictures and content from the Waveney area so if anyone can help with historic buildings, churches or just beautiful scenery come and join in, this is nothing more than a retirement project for someone who is thankful that he picked the right county to live in 50 years ago

Anyone know why these 'backless seats' have been placed on the Prom? I guess it is to stop people lingering in one seat too long, any councillors have the gall to tell us WHY?

I'm no Councillor, but I suspect you're right, John, about them being something of a deterrent to people resting awhile.

You may recall the 2 red circular shelters that were nearby? The Council removed them last year 'to deter drug dealers/users, drinkers etc' causing problems in the evenings.

As seems usual with our Council, they didn't fully think this through. OK these new seats are better than nothing, but they don't encourage people, particularly older folk, to sit awhile & enjoy the sea air, view, or perhaps an ice cream.

And, whilst we're on the topic of seating:

Why is it Lowestoft has 2 Award-winning beaches but no deckchairs??
