A concert featuring the melody of Blue Danube waltz is being performed in Lowestoft.

On May 4, Waveney Sinfonia will put on a concerto titled Green Waveney.

The lyrics, penned by Nick Fowler, have been provided a fresh perspective courtesy of the choir from Sir John Leman High School, under the direction of Molly Ellis.

Mr Fowler, the artistic director of Jubilee Opera, is known for his efforts in children's theatrical projects in Aldeburgh and Snape.

River Waveney Trust will be supporting the concert, which is at Trinity Methodist Church in Lowestoft at 7pm.

The trust, an eco-charity, fosters nature in the River Waveney area in hopes of making it a beneficial space for wildlife and residents.

The musical repertoire of the night also embraces well-known compositions like Saint Saens' Carnival of the Animals, Mendelssohn's Fingal's Cave Overture, Benjamin Britten's Soirees Musicales, and a choir piece, Big Yellow Taxi by Joni Mitchell.

Tickets for the event are available for cash or card payments at waveneysinfonia.org.
