A Suffolk woman accused of throwing a heart-shaped vase at her partner causing a cut to his arm during a Valentine’s Day row has been convicted by a jury.

Before Ipswich Crown Court was Lynette Wright, 38, of Fair Close, Beccles, who had denied inflicting grievous bodily harm on Anthony Glover on February 14 and damaging his mobile phone and tablet.

A jury took an hour to find her guilty of both charges after a two day trial.

Recorder Joseph Boothby adjourned the case for four weeks for a pre-sentence report and told Wright that although the offences crossed the custody threshold he wasn’t going to send her straight to prison.

He ordered her to pay Mr Glover £500 compensation and described her as “an unhappy lady who needed some help”.

During the trial Wright claimed that Glover had become violent after she told him to leave their Beccles home and had grabbed hold of her and pinned her against a wall.

She had picked up a glass teddy bear he had given her for Valentine’s Day and had thrown it behind her causing a black heart-shaped vase to shatter.

She picked up the broken glass and threw it outside and had then thrown some of Mr Glover’s clothing outside as well.

She claimed Mr Glover had grabbed hold of her and pinned her against a wall and she had swung him off her resulting in him knocking into the fireplace.

She went upstairs and shortly afterwards saw he had blood dripping from his arm.

She denied causing the injury or throwing anything at him.

During the trial the court heard the couple met in March 2015 while she was working at “Foxy Kittens” escort agency and they started living together in Field View Gardens in Beccles in November that year.

On February 14 last year Wright told Mr Glover to leave the house after an argument and threw his clothes on to the front lawn.

She pulled Mr Glover down the stairs and picked up a heart shaped ornament from the fireplace and threw it in his direction.

The ornament smashed causing a 12cm wound to Mr Glover’s left arm which needed 13 stitches.
