Somerleyton Primary School’s Parents, Teachers and Friends Association (PTFA) organised a festive fair earlier this month.

A spokesman for the school in The Street, Somerleyton said: “To get everyone in the Christmas mood and raise valuable funds for the school the PTFA arranged a wonderful day of events, including a visit from Father Christmas.”

Children were entertained with face painting, cookie decorating, a lucky dip and a chance to speak with Father Christmas. There was also Christmas stalls, Reindeer (donkey) rides – which proved a hit with the children – as well as the opportunity to see owls up close, from Zoo Tastic based at Lound. Refreshments were provided by the PTFA with music throughout the day – as Mr Ainslie sang festive tunes along with performances from Hand Bell Ringers and the Somerleyton Strummers – head teacher Mrs Louise Spall said: “A huge thank you to the PTFA for organising such a wonderful event. Families having fun, children entertained and money raised for our school was the perfect Christmas gift.

“We are incredibly grateful to Lord and Lady Somerleyton for allowing the school to use the tea rooms and garden as a venue for our festive fair.”
