Nearly 450 people have signed up to take part in the first Lowestoft Colour Dash - with just a few days left until registration closes.

The Colour Dash, organised by East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH), will take place at Normanston Park on Sunday, July 9.

The event is one of the charity’s most popular fundraisers and is a brand new event for the Lowestoft.

And anyone who would still like to take part has got until midnight on Thursday, July 6, to sign up.

The Colour Dash is a two mile fun run around the park – the fun aspect being that participants are showered with clouds of coloured powder paint as they run.

Event sponsor and local car dealership, Robinsons Volkswagen of Lowestoft will have a team running on the day.

Tal Williams, EACH Norfolk community fundraiser, said: “I am excited about the Lowestoft Colour Dash and with only a few days to go, it would be great if we can reach 500 participants.

“Thank you to our event sponsor, Robinsons Volkswagon (Lowestoft) for their support. We are really delighted with the response we have received from everyone in Lowestoft.

“The weather forecast for Sunday looks good so it is bound to be a great day. These events help to raise vital funds for the Nook appeal, to help us construct a new purpose-built hospice to enable us to meet the increasing demand for families in Norfolk.”

EACH cares for children and young people with life-threatening conditions across East Anglia and supports their families. The Nook will be built on a five-acre woodland site in Framingham Earl just south of Norwich and will offer services which are either currently unavailable or extremely limited at Quidenham.

Entry costs £20 for an adult, including a T-shirt, medal and a pot of paint for the colour party at the end or £10 for a child aged five to 15. There are also family and team tickets available. The run will start at 11am.

To book your place, visit or contact the Norfolk Fundraising Team on 01953 666767.
