Take care with barbecues in wooded areas – that’s the warning from Norfolk Fire and Rescue Service today after being called out to three fires this morning.

Crews were called to the woods by Holkham beach, Beach Road in Wells and Fritton Woods, close to Great Yarmouth, after reports of a blaze.

A spokeswoman from the fire service said they were on moderate to high alert because of the dry ground and urged people enjoying the sunny weather to make sure their barbecues were out.
