Jamie Pells, 31 of Ethel Road recently featured as one of the instructors on All Star Driving School, a programme in which celebrities attempt to pass their driving tests in a week.

Each instructor was assigned three pupils as part of the show, and given just one week to get them up to speed and ready for their test.

The show saw Mr Pells become the teacher of three famous faces - former Pussycat Doll Kimberly Wyatt, The Vamps bass player Connor Ball, and Geordie Shore star Nathan Henry.

Throughout the series, Mr Pells also took other stars on mock tests, including I’m a Celebrity winner Vicky Pattison, who he had to fail.

He said: “I’m a big fan of hers having watched her on Geordie Shore and in the jungle, so it was quite hard for me to have to tell her she needed help.

“I had to be brutally honest with her and tell her she was a bad driver, but thankfully she took it quite well.”

The show, which was filmed over three weeks, saw Mr Pells spend a week behind the wheel with each of the famous trio, spending up to eight hours a day on the roads.

He added: “At first it didn’t feel real, particularly with Nathan who I was a big fan of before, but after a while I just found myself getting more comfortable and got quite friendly.

“I also got quite pally with Connor, who I went out for meals with and to the gym with between shooting.”

After his three weeks, Mr Pells was able to guide two of his three pupils successfully through their test, with just one missing out on their licence.

“He’s away at the moment, but I have been in touch and invited them down to Lowestoft to finish what we started,” he said. “You’ll have to watch the show to find out who it is.”

Mr Pells said he hasn’t noticed much difference in his business - Pells Driving Tuition - since starring in the show, though he said he would love to be in a second series.

He said: “Before this, I was on Don’t Tell The Bride as a best man and loved that too, so I’m really keen to work in television more, but I don’t know if there’s anything out there for me.

“I would definitely go back for a second series of this.”
