A driver who was stopped by police for having a defective headlight ended up in custody after he was subsequently charged with drink driving.

Police stopped the motorist in Gorleston just after 11pm last night (Saturday).

The Norfolk & Suffolk Roads and Armed Policing Team @NSRAPT tweeted that the East team had “charged a #DrinkDriver stopped earlier tonight in #Gorleston as the car had a defective headlight. #Fatal4.”

The unit said that the driver provided a sample of breath with a reading of 55. The legal limit is 35.
