A children’s indoor play area and café in Lowestoft has been temporarily closed by Waveney District Council.

Niblets café and children’s soft play park, which opened in the East Point Pavillion in the summer, closed suddenly without explanation earlier this month.

The business operates out of the council-owned building and is run by Glen Whitbread and his partner Amy Petit, who also run Nibbles restaurant in Bevan Street East.

However, while Nibbles remains open, Niblets has been closed to the public for more than a week.

A spokesman for Waveney District Council said: “The council is considering options for the future management of the building and following discussions with the tenants of the East Point Pavilion, it has been decided that a temporary closure would be in the best interest of all parties while some issues are addressed.”

A spokesman for Niblets refused to make any comment on the matter.
