This superb shot of a giant spider’s web glistening in the early morning sun has been crowned The Journal’s Picture of the Week.

The picture was taken by 74-year-old Robin Nicholls in his back garden last week.

He said: “It was early morning, I went outside, saw it and snap. It was simple.

“Apart from the size of it I thought it looked quite artistic.”

Mr Nicholls added: “It feels absolutely wonderful to win Picture of the Week. It’s made my day.”

As our winner, Mr Nicholls receives a 10in x 8in framed version of his photo from Picture Studios, of London Road North, in Lowestoft town centre. Entries can be of any subject but they must be digital images.
