The Rootin Tootin Target Trail, at Pleasurewood Hills, was unveiled to the public for the first time on Saturday, July 22.

The indoor UV dark ride is a laser shooting game, suitable for adults and children of all heights and ages, installed in the park just in time for the busy summer season.

The ride finds guests helping old Sam Hobs to stop dynamite-wielding mine critters blowing up the gold mine by shooting out the targets.

With a scoreboard at the end of the ride charting your shooting skills, the whole family can compete against each other.

Kate Wood, marketing manager, said: “Rootin Tootin Target Trail is an engaging family addition to the park that everyone who visits can enjoy.

“We can’t wait to welcome guests of all ages into the ride.”

Studios East, an international theming specialist based in Great Yarmouth, aided the development of the ride alongside Dutch electrical interactive specialists Lagatronics BV.

Daniel Harvey, managing director of Studios East, said: “We are grateful to Pleasurewood Hills for entrusting us with the ride and we hope it will be a family friendly fun ride that will entertain thousands of guests for years to come.

“We knew that ultraviolet paints would be an ideal medium to use for this attraction and before we knew it, we were on site with paintbrushes and spray-guns at the ready.”

He added: “We want to wish the park all the best for the new attraction.”

The addition of the ride is the latest investment at the theme park. Additionally, a new indoor children’s play area will be arriving in the autumn. Pleasurewood Hills is also planning the re-introduction of the Castle Theatre after renovations are completed later this year.

A spokesman for the park said: “The castle will host the long-awaited return of a full length feel-good family Christmas show – Woody’s Christmas Spectacular.”

The show will feature the iconic mascot Woody Bear and many of his friends.
