A woman, who was allegedly raped and assaulted by a Lowestoft man she met on the Plenty of Fish dating website, rang her sister in a “terrible state,” a court has heard.

In a statement read to a jury at Ipswich Crown Court today (Wednesday), the sister said the alleged victim had “fallen” for Conrad Nelson very quickly after meeting him on the website.

However, she later became “a pale shadow of her normal bubbly self” and after talking to her about her relationship with Nelson she had advised her to leave him. The witness said her sister claimed Nelson had sex with her without her consent and had sexually assaulted her with a sex toy.

Nelson, 37, of Raglan Street, Lowestoft, has denied three offences of rape, two offences of assault by beating and two offences of assault by penetration in respect of two women he met on the website.

Following his arrest Nelson claimed he had consensual sex with the women.

The trial continues.
