Coats and scarves have made way for short sleeves and sunglasses, as school children and workers alike delight in finally spending their free time outdoors.

With the mercury soaring to a seasonal high of 21 degrees, springtime has properly arrived - and it is glorious.

Our photographers have been out and about capturing images of this beautiful day - and our readers have also sent in a few great pictures.

We would love to see what you have been up to in the warm weather as well. Please share your springtime photos via norfolk.iwitness24.co.uk, post them to any of our Facebook pages or tweet them to @edp24.

In our region, the day’s highest temperature was 21.2C, recorded at Santon Downham in Thetford Forest. Tibenham recorded 20.2C, at Marham it was 20.6C, Cromer had 20.4C and 20.3C was recorded at the University of East Anglia in Norwich.

The warmest place in the country was Gravesend in Kent, with a high of 21.8C.

The average temperature for this time of year is a mere 11C.

So let’s make the most of the sunshine while we can. Although temperatures are predicted to remain firmly in the teens, some rain and more cloudy skies are on their way going into the weekend.
