More than 70 competitors from 12 businesses helped to boost worthy causes as a popular charity event was hailed a success.

Staff at the Halesworth office of accountants, business advisors and financial planners Lovewell Blake organised the charity tenpin bowling evening, which raised almost £4,500 for good causes.

The annual event saw defending champions GS Computers of Loddon retain their trophy, narrowly beating Barclays Bank, with Dennis Barber Ltd finishing third.

A raffle and auction on the night, with prizes donated by local businesses, helped boost the total raised, and with generous match-funding from Barclays Bank, and from the partners at Lovewell Blake.

The money raised will go into Lovewell Blake’s LB150 Fund, which every year gives grants to charities and community organisations across Norfolk, Suffolk and Cambridgeshire.

Event organiser Matthew Waters, of Lovewell Blake’s Halesworth office, said: “We are very grateful for the enthusiastic support from the teams taking part.”

The evening was once again hosted by Rob Mayes-Smith and his staff at Richardson’s Family Bowl, Lowestoft, who again generously donated four novelty skittles, which were auctioned off at the end of the evening.
