Tributes continue to flood in for footballer Aiden Lowe

More tributes have flooded in for young Beccles footballer Aiden Lowe.

Mr Lowe, who was in his 20s, was killed on Sunday night when the white BMW he was driving lost control and collided with a tree on the A143, near Gillingham.

Many figures of the local football community have already paid tribute to Mr Lowe, the latest coming from Beccles Caxton Football Club chairman Neil Cooper.

Mr Lowe had recently transferred from Bungay Town FC to Caxton ahead of the start of the new season.

Mr Cooper said: “Aiden was a cracking guy, always with the biggest smile on his face that you will ever see.

“Or deepest condolences and sympathy go out to all his family and friends.

“While he was only here for a short time he was an instant favourite with all the lads - on and off the pitch. He will be missed.”

Police are keen to speak to anyone who witnessed the collision, particularly the occupants of two dark-coloured people-carrier type vehicles which stopped close to the scene; however left before giving any contact details.

Witnesses should contact Acle Roads Policing Team on 101.
