LOWESTOFT legend Nigel Cassidy has died following a short illness.

The fans favourite passed away on Monday morning at the age of 62. Best known for his stunning strike partnership with Mick Tooley in the 1960s - a period of Lowestoft Town domination in the Eastern Counties League - Nigel was The Blues fourth highest goalscorer with an amazing goal ratio of 103 goals in 94 competitive games - the equivalent of 1.
