Lowestoft Town’s poor start to the Norfolk Alliance Division One season continued on Saturday when they slumped to a third successive defeat.

They were bowled out for just 121 at the Denes Oval by newly promoted Thetford, with Nathan Garrod top scoring with 37 and Chris White taking 4-38.

There were two wickets for Ridwan Hoque (2-16) as Thetford replied but they got home by six wickets in the 27th over.

Town make the short journey to Halvergate on Saturday to take on Vauxhall Mallards A.

Lowestoft A were emphatic winners at Bradenham A in Division Five, The hosts were restricted to 157-9 with Michael Taylor scoring 76 and Arun Nair taking 3-13. Nair then completed a good day’s work by scoring an unbeaten 68 in a unbroken third wicket parernship with Peter Sims (71 not out) as Town got home with plenty of time for spare.
