In the Lowestoft & District Saturday League sponsored by Lauren Lou Cancer Fundraising UK Division One leaders Oulton Broad lost 4-3 to Stanford.

Scorers for Stanford were Duncan and S Clay with two goals each.

Oulton Broad still lead by one point from Mutford & Wrentham who beat Oxford Arms 3-1 but Mutford have two games in hand. Southwold won 1-0 at Norton.

Waveney lead Division Two after beating Ellingham 2-1 at home, Hopton FC won 6-2 against Norton Reserves to move up to third on the same points as Kirkley & Pakefield B who beat Crusaders 4-2 with a hat-trick from Mills and one from Palmer.

Mariners moved top of Division Three after beating AFC Oulton 4-3. Gentlemen’s Club are third after winning 6-4 at Loddon Reserves while Carlton Reserves beat bottom club Hawthorn United 6-0.

Celt Rangers moved into the quarter-finals of the Norfolk Primary Cup after beating AC Mill Lane 8-3.

It was always going to be tough for Lowestoft’s visit to Rushall with seven senior players sidelined through injury so Jamie Godbold was pleased to be able to include Robert Eagle and Matt Castellan in the starting line up, both signed the previous day.

Wisbech 6, Lowestoft & Yarmouth 18

L&Y progressed to the final eight of the EDF National Junior Vase competition at the expense of fellow EC1 rivals Wisbech in a superbly supported and thoroughly tense encounter at the Fenland club.
