Lowestoft & Yarmouth’s poor start to the campaign in the new London Three Eastern Counties division continued at the weekend.

After season of struggle in the old London Three North East section L&Y have found no respite with a move to a regionalised set-up featuring only Suffolk, Norfolk and Cambridgeshire sides.

They have lost all four games so far, with their latest defeat - a 85-0 drubbing by high-flying Stowmarket at Corton - being their heaviest yet.

Indeed the results have got steadily worse, with an opening day 25-0 defeat at Crusaders being followed by a 54-3 home reverse at the hands of in-form neighbours Southwold, a 62-10 loss at Ely and the latest painful result.

L&Y have a decent opportunity to arrest their slide on Saturday however when they travel to Gatehouse Lane to take on a West Norfolk side who have also lost their opening four matches, albeit by smaller margins.
