Having skipped into the lead last week the current champions the Waveney Dominators immediately lost that position when they were forced to postpone their match against the Mutford Merlins and take a two point-penalty.

Coupled with this the Oddbods played a real blinder against the Tables storming through a 10-0 win.

Clarke and Lee rounded off the victory in the doubles to springboard Oddbods back into the leading position in what is turning into a close run first division.

Trimwise also took advantage of the Doms postponement after conclusively beating ENSFC 9-1, Phil Clarke being the only College member to score with a win against Barney Garrod.

However, five-setters for Clarke against Debra Faulkner and Dom Cutter against Garrod and David Henderson point towards a much closer match than the scoreline would initially indicate.

Terminators likewise jump ahead with a resounding 9-1 victory against Sidewaves.

With Terminators fielding a strong team Sidewaves can be thankful for David Willgoss beating Charles Goddard for the only visitors’ point.

In the second division the Conservatives go from strength to strength with another victory against the Jesters.

Jed Knights fought valiantly to pick up a win against Reg Cadmore but it would be the only one of the evening as Albert Cadmore and Malcolm Vasey ploughed through the opposition.

The Kites brought the Critters under control with only a returning Graham Lawson managing to make any real impact.

A Lawson maximum three contributed significantly but steady scoring from the Kites gave them a 6-4 victory on the night.

The Mutford Falcons flew much better at home than they did earlier in the season against LCC.

Turning around their away score of 9-1 the Falcons pulled off a draw thanks to three from three for Peter Garnham. And the Hits managed to survive the Arrows onslaught.

Kevin Jones beat Mick Bayfield in the fifth set, but recovered against Tom Petifier having gone 2-1 down. Dave Logan remained solid for the Hits as they concluded a 6-4 victory.
