A Halloween themed ‘Radio Play in a Day’ will be delivered this month.

The Old Time Radio Club is visiting the Seagull Theatre in Pakefield on Sunday, October 29 between 10am and 4pm to deliver an innovative workshop, which will teach young people how to replicate radio plays from the ‘Golden Age’ of radio transmission.

The group perform authentic vintage radio dramatisation under ‘broadcast’ conditions, and they will work with young people, passing on skills to enable them to produce their own show, which will include warm-up scripts, live sound-effects, incidental and jingle/theme music composition, authentic 1950’s style advertisements and the radio show itself. At the end of the day, the youngsters – aged 11 to 14 – will perform their work to an invited family audience. The workshop costs £15 to attend but has limited places so spaces must be booked in advance. To book a place visit www.theseagull.co.uk or call the box office on 01502 589726.
