The Pirates of Penzance was presented by the group at the Trinity Methodist Church in Lowestoft on Saturday.

The concert was hailed as a “most enjoyable evening,” with the children “fantastic.” A group spokesman said: “These youngsters put in accomplished performances, successfully getting their tongues around the intricate lyrics and portraying the comedy elements of the operetta to a very appreciative audience, which included Waveney MP Peter Aldous.

“From the roguish band of pirates, the apprentice and his nurse, the demure daughters and their father, the Major General, to the policemen, whose ‘lot is not a happy one!’, their enthusiasm and enjoyment were obvious and they had been well rehearsed by their musical director, Carol Secret and accompanist, Cheryl Scarff.”
