A number of flood alerts have been issued for parts of Suffolk as Storm Fergus is set to batter the county.

The Environment Agency has issued the alerts for Rattlesden River, the River Gipping, the River Deben, the River Lark and the River Blyth.

Areas affected by the flood alerts include Needham Market, Stowmarket, Wickham Market, Halesworth and Mendlesham.

The Enviroment Agency has said that low lying land could flood today.

More rainfall is expected over the coming days and people are being urged to take extra care on riverside footpaths.

It comes as Storm Fergus is set to hit Suffolk with winds of up to 50mph.

Dan Holley, a weather forecaster based in East Anglia, said there is a risk of winds reaching 50mph in parts of the region from Sunday evening into Monday.
