A multi-award-winning hair salon is celebrating another milestone.
After being honoured at the Suffolk Chamber of Commerce in Lowestoft and Waveney Business Awards last November, CODE Hair Consultants, in Oulton Broad, is marking 14 years of excellence in hairdressing.
The salon, based on Bridge Road, won the 'Commitment to Workplace Culture Award' at the annual awards ceremony after judges were impressed with CODE's unwavering commitment to staff support and for promoting positive mental health.
Laura Bull, who owns and runs CODE Hair Consultants, opened as a colour expert salon in February 2010.
Mrs Bull said: "CODE Hair Consultants is proud to announce its 14th anniversary on February 8, 2024.
"For over a decade, CODE has been at the forefront of the local hairdressing industry, delivering five-star luxury service and expertise to its loyal clientele."
Since purchasing the company premises in 2015 and doubling the size with a salon extension in 2017, CODE has been passionate about nurturing talent through apprenticeships.
In 2018 CODE won the title as the best independent UK hair salon as recognised by the NHBF and today it is a multi-award winning salon.
That same year the salon encouraged customers to be open about mental health as it started a campaign that has reached out to many clients.
Mrs Bull said: "We have coached many individuals into highly skilled hairdressers, and we continue to be dedicated to mentoring the next generation of young people in this industry."
In an industry where many salons struggle to survive past the first five years, CODE has not only thrived but further expanded its offerings.
Last year, recognising the need to support other professionals, CODE opened its first floor space to other industry professionals, providing them with an affordable home to run their business from.
Mrs Bull said: "We understand the challenges that small businesses face, especially in our industry
"By opening up our first floor space to other professionals, we aim to create a supportive community where everyone can thrive."
