All of the Wetherspoons in Suffolk ranked by Tripadvisor

With so many to choose from, we have used the national review guide to rank the pubs in the local area and included some of the oddest reviews from the site. 

The Corn Exchange - 3.5

Where: Bury St Edmunds

The Corn Exchange scored highly for the location, which is right in the heart of the town and has particularly impressive windows. 

One reviewer had "confusion" over the stairs: "Stairs on entering is a bit like is this the right place..."

Another recommended the "little ice cream sandwich dessert, tiny but just enough."

However, one had an issue ordering their drinks: "My friends ordered eight milks, and none of them came, so I asked for four and then I asked for the other four later and they said they didn’t go through I clearly showed the receipts for both milks."

The Drabbet Smock - 3.5

Where: Haverhill 

This establishment has scored more five-star reviews than any other rating.

"It was rather chaotic," said one customer who had turned up for breakfast on a Saturday morning. 

Another commended the "spectacularly large lamb shank" which was apparently "buffalo-sized".

The Golden Lion - 3.5

Where: Newmarket

More than 110 people have scored this establishment with four stars.

One customer felt that the "atmosphere was lacking" at this Newmarket establishment. 

"However it was morning and so not a party atmosphere!" they later conceded.

The Joseph Conrad - 3.5

Where: Lowestoft

One customer felt passionately about their pizza order at the Lowestoft Wetherspoon: "I was horrified to find that when my margarita pizza came to the table instead of basil which’s typically on these pizzas, what sat in the middle of my pizza was an amateur sprinkling of CRESS. CRESS. Why was there cress on my pizza?"

It is clearly a popular establishment, with "people literally dying to get in here," according to one reviewer.

The Cricketers - 3

Where: Ipswich

The garden is something to shout about at this recently-reopened location.

One customer reported that he "sat outside in the sun and necked a refreshing lunchtime pint".

One customer was after a very specific sauce: "My mother, a woman of cultured tastes, desired some custard. I can't begin to express the disappointment in her being when she discovered you do not serve custard. She just wanted that thick pasty goodness on her apple crumble."

Grover and Allen - 3

Where: Sudbury

This pub has patrons as far away as New Zealand: "Every time our son & his wife come over from New Zealand due to the landing time, we head for Weather spoons in North Street Sudbury," wrote one reviewer.

"Security on the door was friendly," according to one reviewer. 

"Not very warm as air con was blowing, but can’t beat drinks prices."

The Willow Tree - 3

"Good and mediocre," said one confused individual. 

"The pub is a good example of the Wetherspoons mantra which l greatly admire," said another.

"The company has saved many buildings around the country. These establishments do seem to attract the early birds at Breakfasttime."
