Culinary delights were created as a challenge of serving up the best plates of food for a pair of judges had groups of youngsters cooking up a storm.
And while it may have been a far cry from cooking on an open camp fire, numerous Scouts showed just how competent chefs they are as an annual culinary contest returned.
The Scouts from five local troops competed in the annual Lowestoft District Scouts cookery competition.
Teams of three Scouts battled it out to impress the judges as they had to prepare and cook a three-course meal in one-and-a-half hours.
The judges, Paul Cator and Kevin Baldwin, were thanked by Assistant District Commissioner (ADC) Scouts Richard Brabben for their contribution to the day.
He said: "The judges were impressed by the variety of the menus and the cooking and presentation."
Menus included themes from Mexico, the Caribbean and Denmark.
The winning troop was the 14th Lowestoft group who pipped 1st Pakefield by two points in a tightly contested competition that saw them finish just in front of 1st Oulton Broad, 4th Lowestoft and 1st Blundeston.
Mr Brabben said: "I too was impressed by the variety and complexity of menus and the way in which the young scouts worked together.
"Not only were they marked on their cookery skills but also on cleanliness, presentation, timekeeping, teamwork, organisation and clearing up."
