Honouring two family members will motivate a runner preparing to take on the London Marathon next month.
Ben Hope, from Oulton Broad, is hoping to raise £2,500 for research and support charity Breast Cancer Now.
The 30-year-old, an events coordinator for Local IQ in Norwich, said: “Having lost my grandma and auntie to breast cancer I couldn’t think of a more fitting charity to support and the amazing work that they do each year.
“Training has gone well and it’s all getting very real.”
Ben has so far raised £1,400 toward his fundraising target on his Enthuse fundraising page, as he takes on the popular event for the second time.
Kate Rahm, the head of the research and support at Breast Cancer Now, said: “Ben’s fantastic fundraising efforts will make a real difference to the lives of those affected by breast cancer.
“Every 10 minutes one woman in the UK is diagnosed with breast cancer and, if nothing changes, this will rise to one woman every eight minutes by 2030.
“It’s vital we find new and effective treatments for the disease.”
