A new restaurant where customers can dine in the company of cats is planning to open in Lowestoft.

Meow Mews Cat Restaurant is being launched to "help people to understand the therapeutic benefit of cats”.

The restaurant is part of a new chapter for the creative wellbeing hub Woodworks Art Café, soon to be renamed Arts Community East, which is moving to a different location in the town.

Up to 15 cats will be selected to be kept in a safe and secure space separate from the main restaurant with food, water, toys and entertainment.

Customers will be able to order food at the bar or table and they can also book their slot to spend quality time with the cats.
