It is not surprising, therefore, to see the organisation sponsoring an award in the inaugural Lowestoft and Waveney Chamber of Commerce Business Awards.

There are 18 separate categories in the awards covering all aspects of business life.

The ceremony will culminate in a glittering awards evening being held at the Wherry Hotel, Oulton Broad, on November 20, where television and radio personality Helen McDermott will be the compere.

The Journal is one of the main sponsors along with leading companies, organisations and individuals from the Waveney area.

Regeneration company 1st East is sponsoring the Creative Lowestoft Business Investment Award.

The award will be presented to the company or organisation that has invested in Lowestoft creating local wealth for local people and improving the economic success in the Waveney area.

The judges will be looking for evidence of success in a number of areas including:

Evidence of clear plans and policies for investment and growth of their business.

Meeting and exceeding planned targets for sales, revenue, profitability and growth.

Planned and positive recruitment of people in the local area.

Plans for long-term investment in the future.
