Your club needs you! Peterborough is ready to be gripped by play-off fever for the fourth time in 22 years and we - the fans of Posh - have a huge role to play in helping our team maintain its 100 per cent record in the promotion shootout.

We won't know until tomorrow afternoon who we'll face in the semi-final, but tickets for the first leg at London Road went on sale on Monday.

And while home attendances have been one of the disappointing factors of the 2013-14 season, I hope Posh fans yet again embrace the end-of-season drama and flock to London Road a week tomorrow to create a crackling atmosphere.

I believe Posh fans played a huge role in the team beating MK Dons in the play-off semi-final in 2011 and we have to play the role of 12th man again to bolster our chances of a second visit to Wembley in just two months.

The first leg of the 2011 semi-final was away and 4,379 Posh fans made up more than a quarter of the attendance at Stadium MK. At one stage, Posh trailed 3-1 and were down to 10 men, but the support was brilliant and we fought back to score a late second goal to keep us in the contest.

The atmosphere for the return leg was truly magnificent as nearly 12,000 fans flocked to London Road and helped cheer Posh on to a decisive 2-0 win, which earned us a place in final with an aggregate victory of 4-3.

The ground was rocking as Grant McCann fired Posh into an early lead and it felt like the London Road end sucked in Craig Mackail-Smith's winning goal on one of the most memorable nights in recent years.

Club owner Darragh MacAnthony has recently spoken candidly about his disappointment with the attendances at London Road and we now have the perfect opportunity to show him that there is a hunger for Championship football in Peterborough.

The club has to shoulder its share of the blame for the drop in crowds after the disappointment of last year's relegation was followed up by a frustratingly inconsistent campaign this season.

But nearly 20,000 Posh fans travelled to Wembley in March to cheer Posh on to victory in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy, which showed the potential to increase the club's fan base in the city. Recent form at home has also been much better, with four straight victories in London Road league games since the Wembley victory over Chesterfield.

While tomorrow's league match at home to Port Vale could be seen as a dead rubber, it's important the team works hard to make it five wins in a row at London Road and give us momentum ahead of the play-offs. A strong performance may also persuade a few floating fans to dig deep and buy their tickets for the play-off first leg.

Now is the time to forget about the negatives of this season and rally behind the team - and what better way to do that than pack out London Road next Saturday.

Up the Posh!

Orient would be my choice

All Posh fans will have an opinion on who we'd rather face in the play-off semi-finals.

Preston are in pole position to finish in third place and set up a two-legged tie against Posh, but Leyton Orient or Rotherham could climb the table if North End slip up at Crewe tomorrow.

I'd probably go for Leyton Orient as my preference for the semi-final, but there isn't much between any of the sides battling it out for the final place in the Championship.

Rowe proved importance

Skipper Tommy Rowe showed in the victory at Shrewsbury exactly why the club should use all its powers to persuade him to sign a new contract and stay at Posh.

His neat header and brilliant through ball set up both Conor Washington's goals before a sublime turn that bamboozled his opponent led to Lloyd Isgrove's first goal for Posh.

Rowe has struggled at points with injuries, but he showed how important he is to Posh with his display at Shrewsbury.
