22-year-old killed in car crash

POLICE have said that the man killed following a car crash in Corton Road, Lowestoft, was a 22-year-old who came from the town.

Emergency services were called to the scene of the crash just before 2pm yesterday.

Emergency services were called to the scene of the crash just before 2pm yesterday. It involved a single vehicle, a gold coloured Peugeot 306.

Next of kin have been informed about the tragedy but formal identification of the dead man has yet to be carried out.

Two female passengers who were also in the car were taken to the James Paget University Hospital, in Gorleston, with non life-threatening injuries.

A police spokesman said diversions had been put in place while investigations and recovery work took place but the road was opened by 4.45pm.
