A school's climbing wall was finally opened following a determined period of fundraising.
Pakefield Primary School proudly unveiled its new facility on Tuesday, July 2, marking the culmination of months of hard work which has included sponsored obstacle course and ice cream sales.
The honour of cutting the ribbon to officially open the wall went to Violet from Bumblebees class, who raised the most money during the sponsored events.
The idea first came about when two fathers offered to build a climbing wall for the children to use in the Early Years outdoor area. They duly sourced the materials and gave up their time to construct it.
Youngsters Archie, Jesse and Ralph - whose dads all played a role in the construction - were the first children to demonstrate their climbing prowess.
"We are all looking forward to many happy hours spent using the wall," said reception teacher, Helen Phillips. "We were truly amazed by the generous support shown by our parents."
