DRONE GOES HOME: We recently featured an appeal by Ron Bagley, and his family, after a drone careered into a tree in the garden of his house in Carlton Colville on Christmas Day.

After speaking with neighbours, a post on social media site Facebook, appealing for anyone with information to come forward, also proved fruitless.

And at the time, Mr Bagley said: 'Someone has lost quite an expensive drone. I feel quite sad that someone may have lost a Christmas present.'

Keen to reunite the owners with this festive gift, the information appeal sparked the interest of the owner's father and son.

Mr Bagley said: 'Thanks to the Lowestoft Journal the drone has been returned to its owners father and son Mark and Max Thurston.

'We met up on Saturday to put the two stories together, we showed them the tree that the drone crashed into and they were very appreciative for its return. Mr Thurston was actually the pilot when the drone went astray and they spent most of Christmas Day and Boxing Day looking for it – thinking it was lost.

'They saw the piece in The Journal and we invited them around – they were so grateful and absolutely over the moon to have got their Christmas present back. And we are so, so pleased that it has got back to the rightful owners.'
