Lowestoft's RNLI Lifeboat came to the aid of a 120-year-old racing yacht which was unable to get into the harbour under its own power.

The historic Victorian vessel had got into trouble on Monday (October 27) afternoon.

Lifeboat coxswain John Fox said: 'The 12-metre Victorian cutter, with a crew of six, was under sail when we were called to assist her.

'We met up with the yacht and crew at the end of the Stanford Channel, just off Lowestoft, and escorted her to harbour entrance, where we connected a line and towed her through the pier heads to the safety of her moorings on the heritage quay.'
