POLICE are appealing for information after a 14-year-old girl was approached by a man who asked her for directions near Lowestoft town centre, then put his arm around her.

The incident happened on St Peters Street on Sunday between 11.50am and 12pm,

The man asked the girl to give him directions, but she declined and walked away from him.

The man then walked behind her following her until she turned into Melbourne Road where she lost sight of him.

He was white man, in his late forties or early fifties, about 5ft 10in tall, of stocky build, with short grey hair and a grey beard which was tidy and short in appearance. He was wearing a grey jacket and blue jeans.
