WITH a number of schools in north Suffolk and across the county having closed already today (Friday), the Lowestoft area seems to have escaped the worst of the wintry weather once more.
Only The Warren School has closed locally, although Kirkley Middle School did not open until 10am and the Ashley School will be closing earlier today (Friday) 'after lunch' according to a school spokesman.
The only other events to have been cancelled today thus far have been the Southwold and Reydon housing consultation visits planned for Friday, while this evening's Suffolk Youth Music concert has also been called off.
