A 17-YEAR-OLD Lowestoft boy has been charged with a number of offences after vehicles were stolen in the town recently.
The teenager, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was arrested in the early hours of Monday (October 25) after a Vauxhall Astra was stolen from Queens Road and crashed in the same road about 3.30am.
The 17-year-old was arrested by police a short time later and taken into custody at Lowestoft police station where he was interviewed by officers and subsequently charged with aggravated vehicle taking.
He has also been charged with allowing himself to be carried on a stolen ride-on lawnmower after it was taken from a garage in Yarmouth Road between June 29 and July 13 and with assault by beating following an incident in Whapload Road on September 15 in which an 18-year-old man was attacked.
The teenager is due to appear at Lowestoft Youth Court to answer the charges next Wednesday, November 3.
