MOTORISTS on the A12 south of Lowestoft encountered an unusual traffic hazard early today after a herd of cows wandered on to the road.
Suffolk police received a call at about 5.45am that a dozen or more cows had found their way on to the road at Kessingland.
A force spokesman said that officers were sent to the scene but the cows 'found their own way back into their field' after a few minutes and caused only minor disruption. The road was not closed at any stage.
The spokesman said the farmer who owned the cattle had been informed.
