A 13-YEAR-OLD boy was found hanging in his bedroom at his home in Lowestoft, an inquest heard.

Xavier Tanoe, who was born on the Ivory Coast in West Africa, died on May 27 at the James Paget University Hospital in Gorleston.

Last Friday's (October 2) inquest into Xavier's death heard how the youngster went upstairs to his room after making a noise while other members of the family were trying to watch television.

The youngster was checked on by his sister and older brother Christevie, who found Xavier playing with a computer console and gave no indication of being upset, the inquest in Lowestoft heard.

Xavier's father Alain works as a GP and the inquest heard how the youngster had asked his older brother where the arm strap his father used in his job was kept.

Christevie told Xavier he didn't know where the arm strap was and Xavier replied that it didn't matter as he would use a tie instead, the inquest was told.

Xavier told his brother that he wanted to play a game and the older boy told him not to do anything silly.

Xavier was later found hanging by a tie from bunk beds in the bedroom the two boys shared at their home in Victoria Road.

An ambulance was called and Xavier was taken to the James Paget University Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

A post-mortem examination revealed the cause of death to be hanging.

Suffolk assistant deputy coroner Yvonne Blake recorded a verdict of accidental death.
