It was a special evening on Thursday, October 1, for John Burt a founder member who with the late Derrick Ingles started what was to become the Lowestoft Cine Club now the Lowestoft Cine and Camcorder Club in 1961. John was to present a series of films he that produced over the many years. But first the vice chair Roger Bellham screened the newsreel which he produces each week showing all the coming events. Several guests were invited by John namely Ken Renshaw and Gwen, Ashley Ford, Chris Parsons, Chris Ddree, Frank Weavers, and Alan and Enid Munro. John started his presentation, with a song of Suffolk a cut to record, written by a local lady Janis, next a long way to Tipperary about a prehistoric spider found on Covehithe beach named Rary, Winter Harvest was next, about the skill of cutting reeds by hand and then by machine on the Norfolk Broads. This was followed by a day to remember, taken while on holiday in Thailand with the working elephants with this wife Mary.
The tea, buffet and raffle was then served after which John presented his slideshow of his visit to Kathrando and his track though part of the Himalayas taken about 20 years ago
President, Austin Mobbs, thanked John for the presentation.
