FOR the best part of two years Lowestoft has had the life strangled out of it by constant, repeated and totally chaotic road works. Shops suffer, car park revenues are down and it seems little wonder that a great many people who used to come in to town just gave up.

We all know about the continuing disruption from bridge closures though it seems nobody will admit to how long this is likely to go on.

We must be a laughing stock.
