A couple in their 80s from Southwold have been conned out of about £200 after sending cash to lottery scams in Holland, Canada and the USA.Police were contacted by relatives of the couple, who discovered they had been sending off small amounts of money over a period of time.
A couple in their 80s from Southwold have been conned out of about £200 after sending cash to lottery scams in Holland, Canada and the USA.
Police were contacted by relatives of the couple, who discovered they had been sending off small amounts of money over a period of time.
Police spokesman Anne-Marie Breach said: “We are urging people not to respond to requests to send cash to claim prizes - if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.”
