Dog hurt

MY dog sustained a severe laceration by glass to his front leg whilst exercising on the park on the corner of Elm Tree Road/Long Road/ Broadwaters Road, last month.

After a hefty vets bill for anaesthetic and surgery to close the wound he is making a good recovery, however, this could have been a child's face.

The vet informs me that the wound was very deep and luckily missed by millimeters some tendons, was almost definitely caused by glass, left in the grass.

Although the park is clean and there are many bins for rubbish and separate dog faeces bins there still seems to be a total disregard by some to use them.

There are a number of teenagers in the park in the evenings drinking alcohol, resulting in most mornings the regular users of the park clearing up at risk to themselves.

In the vain hope that some of them may be reading this I would just like to ask how they would feel if a child's face was permanently scarred from a similar incident?

The park is well used by many young and older children for the facilities and football area, why can the total disregard of some spoil one of the few places that hasn't be acquired for housing or roads?
