A dog walker has captured pictures of a stunning red sky descending across the sea at Pakefield beach.

Jo Griffin regularly walks along the stretch of beach with her cocker spaniel and the NHS worker was greeted by a spectacular scene of intense colour across the horizon.

Mrs Griffin said: "I walk my dog Daisy on Pakefield beach frequently as my parents are both buried at Pakefield Church, and it makes me feel close to them.

"When I arrived the sky was quite surreal, even dreamlike, and then I realised that I had to take a photograph.

"What I was experiencing was so beautiful, and all I wanted to do was preserve that amazing moment on camera."

As the saying goes, 'red sky at night, shepherds delight, red sky in the morning, shepherds warning'.

The photos were taken between 7.30 am and 8.30 am on Sunday, December 18.
